Who We Are Looking For

The Sales Strategy team has a simple mission to craft data-driven, strategic category and 1:1 client narratives that drive revenue and foster high-impact conversations with our customers. The Sales Strategy team partners with Sales and Client Services to provide best-in-class strategic pitch materials – rich in storytelling. The team also works cross-functionally with product, marketing, insights, business intelligence, and other teams to ensure alignment between sales collateral and The Trade Desk’s capabilities, performance, product features, roadmaps, advertising solutions and positioning within the broader AdTech ecosystem.

As a Senior Manager, Sales Strategy - DACH, you will be focused on supporting a team of sellers in region on the company’s highest profile, high-growth, accounts across a variety of categories. In your role you will partner with the Commercial teams to aid them in achieving growth outcomes for their customers.

This role requires someone who can confidently lead and balance senior and regional stakeholder relationships while also demonstrating situational adaptability to pivot in new situations as needed.

From a client-driven storytelling perspective, you will deftly create custom client-specific narratives and developing scaled narratives for DACH by coordinating a consultative and collaborative approach across stakeholders within the region.

We are looking for someone who understands the DACH market and has a passion for synthesizing complex solutions into simplified sales narratives that clearly communicate The Trade Desk’s value to advertisers; you can also effectively work to drive results both through your individual efforts and by coordinating broader team efforts.

You are a strategic thinker, proactive, detail-oriented and data-driven with an eye for curating client-facing materials. You thrive in a dynamic, challenging, ever-changing environment and will be a key consultant to sales leadership and front-line sellers. You love solving marketers problems and creating value for Advertisers, you have an affinity for AdTech and/or Big Data, and you want to play an instrumental role in the future of advertising.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Strategic Partnership: Work with a team of client-direct and agency sellers, on in-market narratives and bespoke pitch development for client-facing meetings; and project manage entire process from concept to completion.
  • Collateral Creation: Anticipate the sales team’s need for new category materials and insights by regularly meeting with them and attending client pitches to gain a first-hand understanding of how current materials are “landing” and current client challenges, priorities and objections.
  • Tactical Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage the execution of reactive requests, to ensure accurate and customized responses that maximize The Trade Desk’s chances for winning new opportunities and growing existing business.
  • Customer Advocacy: Become a partner to internal stakeholders by understanding and sharing client needs, relevant regional/vertical/competitive business dynamics, and a strong POV about The Trade Desk’s positioning in the marketplace.
  • Team Collaboration: Be a team player by actively sharing with and learning from others.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Relevant experience in sales development, media planning, digital strategy, sales/corporate strategy or consulting; ideally within AdTech, the broader digital media industry, the television or streaming industry, at a SaaS company, or media consulting firm.
  • Strong relationship management skills; previous experience in a role where you’ve successfully built consensus cross-functionally and amongst both leadership and your peers.
  • Knowledge of the DACH region is essential
  • Knowledge of AdTech ecosystem and/or programmatic industry preferred; comfortable with online advertising metrics and KPIs required.
  • Multi-dimensional, creative thinker: excellent at thinking analytically, strategically, and tactically; ability to formulate a cohesive, data-based, narrative while telling the story in a compelling and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, ambitious and scrappy; deal well with ambiguity and take initiative and ownership to get the job done.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player who leads discussions; organically shares best practices and knowledge with others.
  • Quick learner able to grasp new technology and product changes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to produce deliverables on-time at a very high bar.
