Senior Operations Manager (f / m / x) – Inland water transport

Location : Germany (Duisburg, Hamburg) / Netherlands / Belgium

Your Responsibilities :

• Managing the end-to-end chartering and scheduling of barges and inland vessels
• Acting as a reliable, strategic contact for key clients and partners
• Coordinating with shippers and service providers , and overseeing the full transport process – from planning to delivery
• Leading daily operational meetings to ensure smooth execution across teams
• Conducting onboard vessel visits to maintain strong communication with crews and monitor service quality
• Maintaining and developing long-term customer relationships through regular contact and personal visits

Your Profile :

• At least 5 to 10 years of experience in inland shipping or in managing transport operations for chemical products
• The ability to manage both operational logistics and customer-facing responsibilities
• Strong sense of ownership, reliability, and organizational skills
• Confident communicator with customers, crews, and internal teams
• You are fluent in English; German and / or Dutch are highly valued, and French is a plus
