The Senior Associate, Communications and Development, supports the implementation of strategic internal, external communications, and marketing efforts to increase awareness and engagement with supporters and early childhood professionals. This role collaborates across Start Early Washington teams, including Policy and Advocacy, Operations, and with Start Early National Marketing and Development teams. Additionally, it supports fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Development & Communication, SEWA, responsibilities include:

1. Internal and External Communications:
2. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels, building and maintaining brand awareness.
3. Implement stakeholder engagement strategies to expand SEWA’s influence in early childhood fields.
4. Coordinate content creation and website updates, including drafting bios, blogs, and updating web content with support from national teams.
5. Work with the Policy and Advocacy Team to share updated policy content via newsletters, Bill Tracker, and other resources.
6. Create web content following SEO best practices and maintain website assets.
7. Prepare and distribute press releases in partnership with the national Communications team.
8. Manage media and contact lists for press and funders.

Marketing:

1. Support social media management, including content creation, posting, community engagement, and analytics.
2. Maintain marketing calendars and support email campaigns via Marketing Cloud, ensuring proper scheduling and performance tracking.
3. Assist in maintaining brand assets and serve as the content manager for internal platforms.
4. Develop digital creative materials and manage campaign assets, including timelines and feedback processes.

Development:

1. Assist with grant proposals and reports through research, drafting, and project management.
2. Conduct prospect research and support communication with funders.
3. Support campaign development and ongoing donor engagement efforts.
