Jobbeschreibung

We are seeking a Translational Science Lead to oversee the scientific strategy and execution of our AI biomarker development efforts in the field of precision oncology. You will be responsible for identifying, validating and guiding the translation of novel AI biomarkers and other AI applications into clinical-grade products. Working at the intersection of biology, AI, medicine and product development you will play a critical role in shaping our biomarker roadmap. You will report directly to the CSO and collaborate closely with product, regulatory, clinical and engineering teams.

Tasks
  • Lead the clinical and analytical evaluation of candidate biomarkers ensuring high performance and reproducibility.
  • Define and continuously refine the scientific roadmap for AI-based biomarkers across multiple indications in alignment with clinical value and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with medical advisors, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and research partners to shape development direction and evaluate emerging hypotheses.
  • Align with regulatory and quality teams to ensure scientific input supports clinical validation and regulatory documentation (e.g. intended use performance claims, technical documentation).
  • Curate datasets and validate model performance with real-world evidence.
  • Review and co-author scientific abstracts, publications and white papers.
  • Lead scientific collaboration projects with hospitals (validation) and pharma (R&D).
  • Drive and execute our grant strategy by writing grants and participating in international consortia that align with our product strategy.
  • Drive our patent strategy together with the legal team.
Requirements and Skills
  • Clinician scientist (or equivalent experience) in oncology, pathology, machine learning, biomedical engineering or a related life sciences field.
  • 5 years of experience in translational research or biomarker development (ideally in oncology or diagnostics).
  • Deep understanding of clinical validation methodologies and AI / ML applications in computational oncology and digitized histology data.
  • Strong track record of scientific output (e.g. publications, patents, studies) with a focus on clinical translation.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced environments aligning science with product and regulatory needs.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills allowing you to clearly articulate a scientific strategy to non-scientific stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English in speaking and writing as well as high-level scientific writing.
  • Experience with grant writing of large international grants.
Good to have
  • MD/PhD.
  • Experience with multi-omics data or multimodal deep learning.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other regulated development frameworks.
  • Prior contributions to patent filings, IP strategy or regulatory submissions for diagnostic products.
  • Exposure to working with pharmaceutical partners.
