Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time
Duties primarily include teaching and research. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate.
A university degree in Physics, Nanoscience, Materials Science, Chemistry or other closely related areas. This is a highly interdisciplinary project and postdocs with an interdisciplinary, international background are highly encouraged to apply.
Proven experience with X-ray spectroscopic methods (synchrotron/XFEL) and sound knowledge of data analysis and interpretation are required. Knowledge of EXAFS double edge refinement, XANES data analysis using FDMNES and FEFF simulation is required. Experience with in situ XAS/XES experiments, the synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles in solution and their characterization, as well as PXRD Rietveld refinement are a great advantage. Experience in electrochemical techniques (EC) for material characterization as well as in operando (in situ) electrochemistry experiments is a plus. Being proactive, the ability to work in a team, and excellent communication skills in English are essential.
