The Project Controller (PC) plays a pivotal role in supporting projects from early development through construction and into operation ensuring robust control over cost schedule risk and reporting. This role ensures effective control over cost schedule risk and reporting and is instrumental in delivering essential project control inputs across all Decision Gates. The primary focus is supporting the German new renewables portfolio with the flexibility to support projects in other countries or regions as needed.
Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold project controls standards and requirements.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and budgets including the Project Master Schedule and baseline.
- Monitor and track key project milestones in alignment with contractual obligations.
- Create and maintain manpower curves where applicable.
- Prepare and support Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) related to schedule cost and risk.
- Contribute to tender documentation with project control inputs (e.g. WBS pricing structures milestones reporting frameworks).
- Maintain and regularly update the current schedule and cost forecasts including variance analyses and scenario planning.
- Initiate and manage re-baselining processes when required ensuring QRA is conducted in accordance with project standards.
- Report accruals and cash flow to the finance team as needed. Track and follow up on claims and change order requests ensuring accurate and compliant processing.
- Lead effective progress meetings with contractors and ensure strong collaboration with the planning function. Provide high-level portfolio overview support as required.
- Prepare timely accurate and comprehensive project reports. Deliver monthly progress and cost reports aligned with project requirements.
- Support project managers with performance data to aid decision-making.
- Promote communication coordination and collaboration across disciplines projects and stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Financial Manager on accruals forecasting and cash flow analysis.
- Collaborate with the Contract Manager to ensure proper handling of claims change orders and unit price calculations.
Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in project or portfolio controls preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong industry insight and familiarity with relevant regulatory and operational challenges.
- Proficient in Primavera P6, OPC Interaxo, MS Project, SAP, Excel and Power BI.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as project needs dictate.
