Power Trader (f / d / m)

Because digital energy trading can't wait any longer : At EWE TRADING GmbH , we handle the energy trading activities of the EWE Group and act as the Group´s interface to the wholesale markets for energy and natural gas and emissions rights (EUA and CER). The position is based in Bremen with the option of mobile working.

Your main responsibilities :

• P&L responsibility for existing and new developing business in proprietary trading (focus on the curve) within the framework of assigned risk mandates
• Development and implementation of profitable trading strategies with a focus on NWE countries, especially Germany and neighbouring countries with tradable markets (including location-spreads)
• Play an active role in supporting other asset trading, portfolio management and optimisation activities within the company by providing market insights through active collaboration
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the market environment, development of a market view and communication within the company
• Professional leadership in the continuous development of trade-relevant processes and IT as well as the implementation of new products and markets

Your profile :

• Advanced degree in natural science, engineering or economics (diploma or master)
• Several years of experience in the active management of large power or cross-commodity portfolios, particularly in proprietary trading, and an above-average P&L track record
• Broad range of knowledge and experience with Power and cross-commodity trading strategies is required
• Expert ability to explain and communicate impact of price changes (level, spreads and dynamics) on position value
• Expertise on an object-oriented programming language (e. g. Python) is advantageous
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Entrepreneurial attitude, strong willingness to perform and learn as well as a hands-on mentality
• Resilient and enjoy working in a team, ability to understand the team needs and open to develop ideas to meet the team objectives
• Very good English skills, German is an advantage
