Jobbeschreibung

43,000 students and 7,750 employees in teaching, research and administration, all working together to shape perspectives for the future – that is the University of Münster. Embedded in the vibrant atmosphere of Münster with its high standard of living, the University’s diverse research profile and attractive study programmes draw students and researchers throughout Germany and from around the world.

The Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology in the Faculty of Biology at the University of Münster is inviting applications for a

Postdoctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in. salary level TV-L E 13, 100%) in the field of epithelial tissue dynamics.

This full-time position is available from the earliest possible date and for the duration of two years. Fulltime employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks include developing and applying scientific methods. The position provides the opportunity to gain advanced academic qualification in the area of epithelial cell biology and tissue dynamics and involves collaboration in research and teaching. During the two-year project, biochemical, genetic and imaging approaches will be applied to investigate the formation of tricellular junctions in epithelial tissues of Drosophila melanogaster. The position offers the opportunity to develop independent research concepts and to obtain further academic qualifications in the field of cell and developmental biology.

The prerequisite for this appointment is a PhD in biology, biochemistry or another related discipline. Applicants should be independent, passionate and collegial, with a strong academic track record in cell, developmental or molecular biology and/or genetics. Expertise in quantitative imaging and Drosophila genetics is beneficial. German language skills would be advantageous, but are not a requirement.

Advantages for you:

The laboratory is based at the Multiscale Imaging Center (MIC), which provides an outstanding interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art microscopy infrastructure. The Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology and the MIC offer an international atmosphere and a diverse range of opportunities for scientific exchange.

The University of Münster strongly supports equal opportunity and diversity . We welcome all applicants regardless of sex, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We are committed to creating family-friendly working conditions. Part-time options are generally available.
