Overview

This position is located at Army Health Clinic Grafenwoehr, Social Work Services in Grafenwoehr, Germany.

Grafenwoehr is a United States Army installation in eastern Bavaria, Germany. Responsibilities
  • Provide treatment services including inpatient services, consultation liaison services, partial hospitalization, day programs, emergency psychiatric services, tele-psychiatric services, and routine and intensive outpatient services.
  • Make recommendations on major diagnostics and treatment plans.
  • Develop treatment and rehabilitation plans and provide appropriate therapeutic treatment services.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness through evidence-based medicine and alter course of treatment as needed.
  • Conduct thorough biopsychosocial evaluations of presenting patients.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to other medical and mental health care providers in and outside of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Collaborate with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving rare, complicated, and multifaceted cases.
  • Serve as a member of local Medical Evaluation Boards for assessment and determination of duty.
  • Conduct training and provide supervision over psychiatric residents, interns, medical students, psychology interns, and other medical and mental health trainees.
  • Make recommendations on improvement of work methods and organizational features.
  • Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: You must meet education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, transcripts may be required.

Basic Requirement for Physician (Psychiatry): Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited US or Canadian school. Must be accredited by the AMA/AAMC, LCME, COCA, or equivalent accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Foreign medical graduates may demonstrate equivalency by ECFMG certification, fifth pathway, or successful completion of the USMLE.

Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a US state or territory.

Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience after earning the medical degree (internship or first year of residency) in an accredited setting.

Residency Training: Successful completion of the required accredited residency in Psychiatry (equal to four years). Residency cannot be substituted by experience.

Education: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If using foreign education to meet qualifications, ensure credentials are evaluated as equivalent to US education by a recognized organization.
