Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site is looking for an Operational Excellence and Performance Manager. This leadership position directs Operational Excellence and Performance Management across all A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL) operations and leads the A320 FAL’s strategy for the program\'s performance system.
Our team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility takes aircraft from concept to customer delivery – working with production teams on every aspect of assembly from managing technical information, quality control, maintenance tasks and health & safety – along flowlines and flightlines. The facility opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015 and produces A320 Family aircraft; a second product line for the A220 was added in 2019.
Education: Required: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Business or Management
Experience: 3-5 years proven experience in aircraft industry or manufacturing related to data analysis; Project/Portfolio Management; 7-10 years overall experience
Licensure/Certifications: Preferred: Data analytics (Palantir); LEAN/ AOS (Airbus Operating System); PMP Certification or AIB Bronze Level Certifications
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Data analytics and dashboard creation (e.g., Skywise / Tableau / PowerBI / VBA); Understanding of object-oriented programming in JavaScript and Python; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite; Strong LEAN, P&PM tools; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Ability to galvanize a team; Effective communication; Strong analytical and problem solving; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the definition and strategic alignment of the performance system, ensuring clear linkage from result KPIs to actionable Monitoring KPIs.
Translate A320 Single Aisle targets into a robust performance system, integrate with central VSM and A320 Target Letter at L4/L5 levels.
Establish a single source of truth for all KPIs, including KPI ID Cards for data integrity.
Represent and lead A320 FAL performance in national and international KPI harmonization initiatives.
Deploy Performance System Improvements: drive end-to-end deployment of new KPIs and dashboards; establish governance framework; oversee dashboards for daily, weekly, and monthly reviews at each management level.
Secure achievement of targets through continuous improvement: analyze performance trends, define strategic action plans and Lean PDCA cycles; manage portfolio of PDCA actions; drive automation of KPIs and analytics; coordinate Lean Experts.
Coordinate the production of visual management and KPI insights for TAKTED LINE 1/2, Completion Final Phase, Ground Test, X-Plant, Technical Support, and link with Site Services and A320 project portfolio.
Support creation of Communication Pack for Visitors and deputize during performance reviews as needed.
