Jobbeschreibung

Hey there! We’re datin GmbH and we are building the new power grid for scientific innovation.

You know that the future of AI isn’t just about Large Language Models. It’s about Structured Knowledge. You understand that for an AI to truly assist scientists it needs to understand the meaning behind the data, not just the patterns.

We are looking for a specialist to own the semantic core of our platform. You will be the architect of our Knowledge Graph, the person who translates complex scientific realities into a machine-readable logic (RDF). You will be the bridge between our backend developers and the abstract world of ontologies, ensuring that our infrastructure is consistent, scalable and cutting‑edge. This is a role for someone who wants to work at the absolute forefront of Semantic Web technology and AI.

Tasks
  • Ontology Architecture: Refine and evolve our core data schema. You will decide how concepts relate to one another ensuring our graph remains flexible yet robust.
  • Semantic Feature Integration: Translate new application features into semantic logic. When the product team dreams up a new workflow you figure out how to represent it in the Knowledge Graph.
  • Schema Federation: Integrate external ontologies (e.g. QUDT, BFO, specialized domain ontologies) and design new sub-schemas to expand our coverage of scientific domains.
  • Graph Consistency & Quality: Manage database consistency using SHACL shapes or reasoning rules. You ensure that the data entering our triple store adheres to the logic you’ve designed.
  • Developer Support: Act as the subject matter expert for our software engineers, helping them write efficient SPARQL queries and understand how to interact with the graph programmatically.
  • R&D Strategy: Research the latest W3C standards and Semantic Web trends to ensure datin remains ahead of the curve.
Requirements
  • Technical Core: Deep understanding of Semantic Web technologies: RDF, RDFS, OWL and SPARQL.
  • Modeling Skills: Experience with ontology editors (like Protégé) and a knack for abstract modeling. You know the difference between a Class and an Instance and why it matters.
  • Validation: Familiarity with SHACL or similar validation languages is a strong plus.
  • Background: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Science or a related field (or equivalent deep self‑taught expertise).
  • Mindset: You are meticulous and logical. You enjoy solving the puzzle of how to structure the world into a database.
Benefits
  • Above-average compensation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Free beverages
  • Public transportation benefits
  • Remote work
  • Travel expenses compensation

This is the future of scientific AI. At datin GmbH you won’t just be writing code; you will be defining the grammar of scientific discovery. If you are ready to build the semantic engine that powers the next generation of R&D, apply now and let’s shape the future together.
