At Teijin Aramid, within the Product & Application Development team in Wuppertal (DE) , we are looking for a

Manager Application Competence Center

Aramids are used in a range of applications from tire reinforcement, composites for aircrafts, as well as for ballistic protection.
By combining knowledge about our own products and our vast application know-how, we are developing and producing specific Twaron yarns and fabrics, allowing our customers meeting the requirements of their customers in the best possible way.

Your role

You will lead a team of 11 fte, mainly working for our Ballistic and Protective business segments. There are 2 sub teams (sample preparation and testing). Your role is:

• Leading and developing the ACC team
• Keeping the ACC operational
• Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
• Planning and controlling of budget
• Investment planning and execution
• Managing stakeholders (various Authorities, Technical Team, Sales, Customers, Landlord, Management…)
• Safeguarding a safe work environment (together with the HSE manager)

You are based in Wuppertal Germany and report to the Global Technology and Application Manager Ballistics. The team is part of the Teijin Aramid Research & Innovation Centre (RIC).

Your profile

• You have at least 5 years of experience as a people manager;
• You have a technical background or experience as a manager in a laboratory/production environment;
• You are a Bachelor of Science, State-certified Technical Engineer, or Bachelor Professional
• You are a team player and enjoy working together in an international environment within our global organization, as well as with our external partners;
• You have good communication skills and understanding of cultural differences;
• You have a good command of English, both verbally and in reports; speaking German is an necessity;
• Finally, you consider safe working practices of highest importance.
