Overview

As a Lead UI Engineer (f/m/x), you’ll join the Single Sign-On (SSO) Services Engineering team.

This is a key role within the department that influences, designs and crafts re-usable User Interface components & micro frontends for applying across all SSO Services. You will inherit a well maintained set of re-usable components following a consistent pattern and will be accountable for adding to and improving these further while also keeping these up to date as the requirements and/or technologies move on. You will directly collaborate with the product owner(s), business areas, and Operations team (local and remote) to ensure Production Stability. Key responsibilities

• Own and implement front-end / UI development & backend logic to support UI development
• Drive root cause analysis and system stability improvements to avoid reoccurrence of production issues; formulate and prioritize technical tasks to enhance system maintainability
• Design and develop new re-usable UI components / micro front end with a view to wide adoption across multiple use cases while adhering to Style Guides and User Experience requirements
• Leading by example and setting User Interface development standards as well as UI automation testing standards for teams to follow preferably on multiple Angular versions
• Coach and support other UI developers and maintain on-boarding/training plan for new joiners within the department that includes minimum hiring standards, knowledge acquisition plans
• Maintain formal and informal forums, collaborate and engage with Senior Engineers, User Experience Lead, Visual Designer, Product Architects to keep abreast of the ongoing issues, identify synergies and design and develop common functionality wherever missing and encouraging re-use of existing assets
• Keep abreast of and evaluate new technologies that enable faster time to market while not compromising long term maintainability and quality of the user interfaces
• Carry out deep dive debugging of Java services, SAML/OAuth2/OpenID Connect flows, and federation issues
• Collaborate with Business, Product managers, SL3, SL2 & Development teams to resolve escalations that require code-level or system-level expertise

Qualifications

• Strong experience in developing solutions using Java
• Strong demonstrable experience of developing and delivering highly performant data intensive/low latency applications with React & TypeScript
• Experience in Front-end Software Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES5 and ES6+))
• Analytical skills, structured approach, attention to details; high discipline and stress resistance; ability to take ownership of tasks up to full completion
• University degree with technological or scientific focus or equivalent working experience.
• Strong Experience working with Google Cloud architecture, Docker, Kubernetes and any of these Public Clouds: AWS, Azure, GCP
• You have a hands-on attitude, curiosity, make use of your problem-solving skills and speak fluently English.
• Familiar with web security, accessibility and internationalization
• Good working knowledge of Bash Scripting & Linux
