This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany

EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany.
Counts change fund, sets up cash drawers for front end personnel, and verifies the accuracy of each drawer. Turns on the master cash control processor and sets up the office terminal(s) for the day's business. Operates and, as required, reboots the store cash register terminals. Loads money tills into self checkout registers. Runs diagnostics to ensure money disburses correctly. Makes necessary adjustments. As a cashier reports for duty, issues an individual cash drawer placing the required change in each drawer. Sells change to the cashier as required. During the operating business day, accomplishes loans for each cashier and makes appropriate changes to pickups and loans during the day to ensure completion of reports and information for the day's operation. Prepares, processes and approves customer refunds. Bags and seals cash and checks for police escort. Makes up change list and calls into bank to be picked up by police escort. Verifies change fund brought from the bank. Periodically makes pickups from all cashiers, registering each in office terminal to prevent extensive fund accumulation in cash registers and safeguards funds. Ensures deposit tickets are properly made up and deposits are verified against the account.
Receives funds from the cashiers in the form of paper currency, coins, checks, redeemable coupons, food stamps, and, occasionally, offline credit card transactions. Counts and verifies for accuracy against the computer account printout and sales listed by department and completes appropriate control document. Verifies cashier's records by checking between total of change fund and sales record. Prior to signing receipt of funds, responsible for examining individual cashier settlement sheets to ensure accuracy or to determine shortage or overage. Separates change, currency, and food stamps by denomination. Holds redeemable coupons for later processing at which time transmittal forms are filled out to the sent to appropriate DeCA control office. Verifies any nonscan checks, WIC checks, travelers' checks, and money orders from each cash register to ensure that the cash register number is annotated on the check, that the amount is the same, that numerical and written totals agree on the check. and that all checks are properly signed. Totals checks for each register, comparing total with cashier settlement sheets. Compiles a master check list. Compiles a Report of Deposit covering funds to be redeposited.
Ensures agreement between net turned in and the amount shown on the Report of Deposit. Signs appropriate forms to signify receipt of funds from each cashier. Assembles individual cashier forms, consolidated forms, and tapes to tum into the Commissary Officer. After reconciliation of funds and compilation of reports, secures all funds, locks the safe, signs the appropriate forms,and ensures the safe is locked. Makes monthly checks of store duress alarms and the overall alarm system. Responds with tact and diplomacy to customer questions and issues. Handles routine questions independently referring unusual requests or more difficult situations to the supervisor. May provide on-the-job training to other office personnel. As needed, performs the duties of sales store checker.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience performing a range of basic cash processing procedures and computations. Experience may include cash collection, operation of electronic cash registers, sorting and balancing money deposits, counting cash for accuracy, working with scanning systems, etc.
