Qualifikationen

Overview

Hochschulrechenzentrum (HRZ) - We are the IT competence and service center of Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). Whether data processing, infrastructure or telecommunications supply - we enable around 25,000 students and 5,800 employees to advance science and research for society every day. This makes us the technical nervous system of the university - you too can become a part of it.

Strengthen our HRZ from the next possible date on a permanent and full-time basis as
IT technician (m/f/d) for hazard detection systems

If the requirements of the collective agreement are met, remuneration will be in accordance with pay group 10 TV-H.

Your environment

The HRZ enables tomorrow's discoveries with today's IT - join us in the communications technology team. Here you will administer JLU's hazard detection and BOS radio systems with the associated hardware and software components for security in administration, research and teaching.

Your tasks at a glance
  • Operational operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and further development of the central and decentralized components of the hazard alarm systems as well as the BOS radio systems in the university's properties
  • Design, further development, planning, implementation and administration of special (extinguishing) systems and early fire detection systems
  • Data maintenance, documentation and information on the university's information and communication cable networks
  • Participation in construction meetings for the above-mentioned trades and service management
  • 2nd level user support/consulting for the aforementioned services, systems and services as well as technical representation within the group
Qualifications and skills
  • Completed IT-related vocational training or proven comparable experience and knowledge through many years of practical experience
  • Many years of practical experience in the operation of hazard alarm systems and telecommunications systems
  • Sound knowledge of hazard detection systems
  • Very good knowledge of BOS radio systems and the BOS radio directive; alternatively: very high motivation and ability to familiarize yourself quickly with this specialist area
  • Very good knowledge of access control systems
  • Practical experience with and experienced management skills for external service providers
  • Good knowledge of information and communication cable networks, server administration and networks / TCP/IP protocols
  • Very good German language skills (at least level C1)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and MS Visio
  • Driving license class B
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duty (approx. 7 one-week on-call periods per year)
  • Analytical thinking and results-oriented way of working, ability to work in a team and strong service orientation
