Major Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and medical history reviews; listen to patient concerns and assess symptoms to identify potential conditions.
- Diagnose a wide range of medical conditions using clinical knowledge, diagnostic tests, and imaging; order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other investigations.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses; prescribe medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, vaccinations, nutrition, and healthy living; conduct regular health screenings and preventive check-ups.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans when necessary; provide follow-up consultations to ensure effective recovery and management.
- Refer patients to specialists when advanced care or procedures are required; collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Provide immediate care in medical emergencies and stabilize patients before specialist intervention; handle urgent medical conditions like infections, respiratory distress, or cardiac issues.
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records, prescriptions, and treatment history; ensure compliance with medical and legal standards in documentation.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical medical practices; ensure treatment is in line with current medical guidelines and evidence-based practices.
- Stay updated with the latest medical research, treatments, and technologies; attend conferences, workshops, and training for professional growth.
