Role Description

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join our Platform and Infrastructure team to build out our cloud platform. As a founding engineer, you will work directly with the co-founders to design and develop a platform that supports multiple data storage and processing technologies, including Snowflake, DuckDB, Trino, and ClickHouse. This is a full-time, in-person role in SF where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the company's technology from the ground up and take ownership of key technical milestones.

What we're looking for?

We need someone with at least four to five years of experience in infrastructure and platform engineering who has experience as an early-stage hire (1st or 2nd infrastructure hire) at a company building highly distributed systems. You should be comfortable managing Kubernetes clusters and optimizing spend versus performance, and have a track record of automating infrastructure needs. Bonus points if you have experience at a database company or with relevant big tech products like Velox at Facebook.

What you'll do:

• Own the DevOps side of things, including Kubernetes and all infrastructure and build systems.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, finding new ways to deploy them to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Manage the entire service mesh between clusters.
• Find ways to deploy our software as efficiently as possible.
• Build out monitoring and observability for the system.
