About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead the development of a new digital platform for metering services. The platform combines process automation and a scalable data warehouse to drive digital transformation, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve transparency for both operational teams and end customers.

This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of the German energy market, who can translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into a clear roadmap and deliver tangible results in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the TECH & DATA strategy for metering services in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Conduct an analysis of existing processes and IT systems, identifying weaknesses, manual steps, and automation opportunities.
• Develop an end-to-end blueprint for target architecture and process logic.
• Translate requirements into technical and functional specifications for implementation.
• Oversee the step-by-step implementation of:
• Modular ordering and installation workflows (Smart Meter Check)
• Portal extensions for service partners
• APIs for system integration
• Automation solutions for efficiency gains
• A scalable data warehouse as central data foundation
• Lead the introduction of standardized service blueprints in line with GPKE, WiM, and GWA requirements.
• Support the digitization and optimization of metering processes with digital tools and automation.
• Drive knowledge transfer and competence building within internal teams.
• Provide regular status updates, reviews, and documentation of lessons learned.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in the energy sector, ideally with smart metering projects.
• Strong knowledge of German market processes and regulations (GPKE, WiM, GWA).
• Expertise in process automation, service design, and BPMN modeling.
• Experience with data platforms, API design, and DWH architecture.
• Hands-on technical understanding (software architecture, programming familiarity a plus).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate internal teams and external service providers.
• Familiarity with agile methods (Scrum, Kanban).
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality.
• Excellent communication skills in German (English is a plus).
