Your role

Support of the global sustainability team as well as the local departments in Germany on sustainability issues.

Global:

  • Identification, development of a management system for sustainability requirements in customer contracts, technical documentation
  • Support with periodic sustainability reporting (annual sustainability report, monthly or quarterly reporting)
  • Assisting with the coordination of regular ESG-related activities and disclosures across the organization (e.g. SEC climate risk disclosures, EU Taxonomy and CSRD etc.).
  • Assisting in the preparation of non-financial information reported in customer and investor questionnaires and surveys
  • Helping facilitate audits from internal and external auditors, serving as a liaison for any ESG-related assurance work.
  • Support management and due diligence actions to assess and validate Aptiv's ESG related policies and progress for external disclosure
Germany:

In addition to the core sustainability team responsibilities, supporting other functional departments (e.g. engineering, finance, manufacturing or HR) in related sustainability initiatives including:
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Sustainability Statement for the German legal entity as part of the annual financial statement
  • Further development of the employee engagement survey (develop action items based on the survey results to improve the working environment)
  • Conduct deep dives into cost-reduction opportunities through sustainability reviews, such as waste disposal and energy consumption
  • Investigate sustainability metrics such as plastic bag usage, material scrap, and explore potential alternatives
  • Evaluate Aptiv products from a sustainability perspective
  • Contribute ideas for new business models for Aptiv products (e.g., pay-per-use, recycling concepts)
Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, environment or (possibly with preparation) law and social affairs.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Communication skills in English and German, both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop relationships cross-functionally and cooperate with people in all regions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure
  • Self-starter, with ability to organize own work, operate autonomously

Master Sustainability Management (M.Sc.) at Cologne Business School (CBS)

CBS Master program in sustainability enables students to:
  • Work in any job/function (purchasing, administration, product development, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Identify and evaluate the best solutions (economic, social, ecological, technical, digital, legal)
  • Broadly evaluate potential impact of global sustainability related regulations
  • Design and execute change management processes in a cross-functional, global role
Study schedule at CBS
  • Only 4 semesters (part-time master programs 5 semesters)
  • Parallel learning on the job and at university: Strong integration of study content with company tasks - you can bring tasks with you
  • Mix between live learning days on campus, live learning days online and guided self studies at home (approximately 3-6 days of live learning per month which always take place 3 days in a row
