Pacific International is a Global Executive Search firm with Offices across Europe & the US. The Renewable Energy & Cleantech practice has been retained exclusively on a Managing Director mandate in Germany.

Our client is an international company, specializing in the development, implementation, and operation of renewable energy project, particularly large-scale photovoltaic systems and battery storage solutions. The company offers a dynamic, future-oriented working environment for individuals who want to actively contribute to the energy transition.

In the position as the Director of Project Development for PV & BESS, you will take full entrepreneurial responsibility for driving the growth of our innovative, sustainability-focused energy business in Germany. With a strong emphasis on Ground Mount PV, battery storage (BESS), and future hydrogen solutions, you will help shape the energy transition as part of an international Independent Power Producer.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing all operational activities in Germany, including full P&L responsibility
• Driving the further development of the market strategy, expanding into new business areas (e.g., hydrogen), and building up the German organization
• End-to-end management of PV and BESS projects – from development through to operation
• Leading a growing team of experts and building strong, long-term strategic partnerships, especially within the joint venture
• Working closely with the international executive team to shape the future of the overall corporate group

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, Sustainability, or related fields, with several years of experience in ground-mounted PV project development and solid knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS)
• Proven leadership and result responsibility in senior roles (e.g., managing director or department head), including confident management of budgets in the double-digit million range.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on personality with strong leadership, social skills, decisiveness, and high emotional intelligence
• Excellent communication abilities and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration with partners from agriculture and technology
• Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and occasionally internationally, with fluent negotiation-level skills in both German and English
