Overview

Director of Accounting & Tax
Location: Munich

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting & Tax to lead the accounting team of an international healthcare group. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and process optimisation while working closely with senior leadership to drive strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting team and support the strategic development of finance functions alongside the Group CFO.
• Oversee the coordination and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with HGB and, in the future, IFRS.
• Ensure smooth execution of monthly closings, including intercompany reconciliations and VAT compliance.
• Act as the primary contact for tax consultants and auditors, overseeing tax-related matters across the group.
• Drive improvements in financial processes and IT systems, ensuring seamless integration with other group functions.
• Lead initiatives related to accounting and financial reporting enhancements.

Your Profile

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with additional qualifications such as International Accountant preferred.
• Several years of experience in accounting, ideally with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of HGB accounting standards (IFRS knowledge is an advantage).
• Proficiency in MS Office and experience with DATEV, SAP Business One, or Lucanet.
• Analytical mindset with a structured, hands-on approach and a passion for process improvement.
• Business-fluent German and English (C1 level or higher).
