Jobbeschreibung

In this hands‑on role, you will take full ownership of all German tax matters for Picnic’s fastest‑growing and soon‑toProof-of‑career market. You will manage tax topics end‑to‑end, from concept to implementation, shaping scalable structures that support rapid international growth.

You will work closely with internal teams in Amsterdam and/access to Düsseldorf, external advisors, tax authorities, and senior leadership. You will report into the International Tax Lead who is based in Amsterdam, and together you will oversee day‑to‑day matters across VAT, product taxes, wage taxes, and corporate income tax, while contributing to key international tax decisions.

We are looking for a curious, digitally savvy, and well‑structured self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. More than titles or years of experience, we value critical thinking, ownership, collaboration, and humility.

This role will be based in Düsseldorf or Amsterdam. If circumstances require so, relocation may be (partially) sponsored by Picnic.

What you’ll do
  • Tax Ownership: Full responsibility for all German tax matters, with a focus on VAT and tax compliance
  • Primary Contact: Main point of contact for all tax-related questions for Picnic’s German entities

  • Compliance Management: Design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a pragmatic, scalable German TCMS
  • Audit Management: Hands‑on coordination of tax audits and reviews with authorities and external advisors
  • Financial Collaboration: Close cooperation with Accounting, Controlling, Legal, and Audit on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Cross‑Border Taxation: Tax assessment of international supply and value chain transactions
  • Transfer Pricing: Contribution to transfer pricing concepts and documentation
  • Strategic Sparring: Input into the development of the group‑wide tax strategy
  • Project Ownership: End-to‑end responsibility for special projects and ad‑hoc tax analyses
  • Process Optimization: Continuous automation, optimization, and scaling of tax and finance processes
  • Ownership: Leading the tax setup and operations for Picnic’s key growth market
  • Hands‑On Impact: A truly operational role with direct execution, not just coordination
