Description
Cadogan Tate New York Limited has an open position for a career-oriented Warehouse Supervisor for our Melville, Long Island Warehouse. Oversee the inbounding process of the Warehouse, including all shipping and receiving. Schedule and supervise other employees, providing training as necessary. Maintain warehouse inventory, equipment, and property while ensuring high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations. Lead and develop the warehouse team, delivering impeccable customer service to clients, third-party vendors, and coworkers. Receive, locate, and distribute items as directed. Relocate goods within the warehouse as needed. Handle, pack, and condition report art, antiquities, and fine furniture. Assist in loading and unloading Cadogan Tate and third-party trucks.
In addition to physical responsibilities, this role includes key administrative and office duties such as completing paperwork, checking scans, performing data entry, and coordinating with both the Office Coordinator and Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth and accurate documentation and communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities for a Warehouse Supervisor are the following:
- Review inbound collection BOLs daily to identify next steps (Ie. locate for storage, transfer, stage for interstate shuttles, containers, packing department, local delivery).
- Review shuttle pack notes to identify next steps.
- Determine the most appropriate storage solution for oversized or unique collections.
- Coordinate with General Manager and team to action next steps.
- Ensure local inbound bays are emptied daily; turn-around time for local inbound collections is 24 hrs.
- Ensure Shuttle inbound bays are emptied by the date of the next inbound shuttle.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of skilled warehouse handlers in daily activities in art handling procedures and policies.
- Support Storage Coordinator with managing inventory.
- Scan property to ensure accurate inventory locations are always maintained.
- Control and manage inventory.
- Liaise between the Client Services team and Operations team, providing timely feedback when required.
- Assist and collaborate with other technical managers and supervisors when necessary.
- Review and verify scanned documents and inventory records.
- Collaborate closely with the Office Coordinator to align on scheduling, documentation, and service updates.
- Assist Warehouse Manager with administrative reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain detailed focus and accuracy on every assignment.
- Proper handling of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furniture.
- Preparation of condition checks and condition reports as needed.
- Pack artworks, antiquities, and fine furniture for transportation and storage.
- Receive and release shipments, maintaining accurate inventory and condition reporting when applicable.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of Cadogan Tate and third-party trucks.
- Handle and control all paperwork when on-site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for goods.
- Assist with installation projects.
- Preparation of condition checks and condition reports as needed of warehouse equipment and tools.
- Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job.
- Be the point for quality control on all packing and labeling.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma / GED required.
- Three to five years of logistical, warehousing, and art handling experience, including packing.
- Three years of people management experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills including data entry and digital file management.
- Four plus years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
- A knowledge of warehouse inventory structure allowing new locations to be correctly amended as items are relocated.
- Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Impeccable communication and multitasking skills.
- Professional demeanor at all times.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting.

- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies, and other necessary warehouse equipment.
- Ability to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead.
