Join our high-impact, fast-paced Respiratory Therapy team at the Stollery Children’s Hospital! As Edmonton’s primary pediatric and neonatal tertiary care centre and a referral hub for Western Canada, we offer specialized services such as cardiac surgery, organ transplantation, high risk Labour and delivery, and Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS). You will have the opportunity to work across three Stollery sites: University of Alberta Hospital (UAH), Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), and the Sturgeon Community Hospital (SCH) as needed. What You’ll Do: Provide high-quality, family-centered care across a range of units: UAH: Cardiac, surgical/non-surgical PICUs, NICU, inpatient wards, emergency. RAH: Level II & III 69-bed NICU, high-risk Labour and delivery. SCH: Level II NICU and labour and delivery. You will also have the opportunity to join elite specialty teams, such as Neonatal and Pediatric Transport, ECLS, and the Resuscitation & Stabilisation Team (RST) for high-risk delivery response. This is a multi-site float position requiring the candidate to orientate to multiple Stollery sites as needed operationally. Why Edmonton? As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients, develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment and educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Graduate from a recognised School of Respiratory Therapy is required. Must be eligible to write or have passed the National Respiratory Certification Exam. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support– Healthcare Provider (BCLS‑HCP) required. Active member of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
2–3 years of recent critical care experience in a tertiary neonatal and pediatric setting. Oriented to the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Certified in NRP/PALS. Experience includes transport/ECLS teams, CISM, charge therapist, student preceptorship, and quality improvement initiatives. Active in committees and practice change implementation. Strong clinical documentation and task management skills.
