The Province of Manitoba is seeking to fill the Director, Strategic Analysis and Systems Support position within the Department of Agriculture.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Degree in social sciences, business or public administration, economics, or a related field; a combination of related education, training and/or experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to create, support and sustain diverse environments enabling staff to achieve results and develop for the future.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage opportunities for innovation, find creative solutions to issues, and successfully manage change.
• Management experience with responsibility for human and financial resources.
• Experience translating strategic priorities into clear operational and business plans and experience with strategic performance management and measurement systems.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Political acumen demonstrated through experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics and sensitive issues.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial management.
• Experience providing leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies and programs.
  
  

Desired:

• Experience providing centralized strategic planning, business planning and annual reporting support services.
• Experience providing centralized information technology services.
• Experience providing centralized economic research and analysis services.
  
  

Duties:

As a member of the department’s management team, the Director is responsible for leading and managing the Strategic Analysis and Systems Support Branch and providing advice and support to the Assistant Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister.

The Strategic Analysis and Systems Support Branch is responsible for creating the environment that enables the department to achieve its strategic goals and ensure industry-leading knowledge and technology solutions are available to effectively inform government policies, deliver client programs and engage the public.
