A community support organization in Edmonton is seeking Casual Float Pool Community Disability Support Workers. This role involves guiding individuals with developmental disabilities and providing support in various settings. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, relevant experience, and a valid Driver's License. Competitive pay of $20/hour plus benefits is offered. Taproot Community Support Services, is building our 24/7 CASUAL FLOAT POOL to work a variety of shifts as a Community Disability Support Worker, covering staff illness, leaves, vacation etc.
- AVAILABILITY to work: day, night (sleep) or Night (awake) shifts
LOCATION: Group homes, private homes or community in Edmonton, Alberta
WHEN DO I WORK? Set your availability and claim any available open shifts.
HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE? $20/hr plus pay in lieu of benefits
WHEN CAN I START? Complete the signup process, provide required security clearances and start as soon as possible!
- Guide and support persons with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health issues &/or FASD in a group home or private home setting
- Model socially appropriate behaviors (for the individual and the community).
- Administer medical administration or first aid, according to prescribed procedures.
- Receive training for: Non-violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, Suicide Prevention, etc.
- Prior to confirmation of employment, all applicants must provide a copy of a current Criminal Record Check and/or Government Screening Letter. These checks vary depending on province and sector and will be communicated by the Program Hiring Team.
- High School Diploma
- Related experience - educational assistant, healthcare aide, social services worker, youth worker
- A Driver’s License
- Clear criminal record and social services intervention check
