We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Vancouver. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong full-cycle accounting experience who is comfortable working in a bilingual (English and Mandarin) business environment. Mandarin language skills are considered a strong asset, as the role involves communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and business partners. This position requires close collaboration with senior management and shareholders, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be proactive, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
- Record and review journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Maintain and update the general ledger
- Collect, verify, and organize financial data and supporting documents
- Prepare financial statements and accounting reports, ensuring accuracy
- Ensure all accounting records comply with Canadian accounting standards and legal requirements
- Post-secondary Diploma in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 1 year of full-cycle bookkeeping experience (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience using SAGE accounting software (required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong sense of responsibility and professional work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Language Skills: English required (working proficiency); Mandarin preferred (spoken and/or written)
