Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Effective communication in English with employees and residents, including reading and writing skills
• 1-3 years experience as a cook in hospitality or healthcare
• Food handlers permit as required by law and company standards
• Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, and service

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking food according to Atria Retirement standards
• Collaborating with the Executive Chef and/or Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and storage areas
• Managing opening and closing of the kitchen
• Following cleaning schedules and food safety practices
• Receiving, storing, and preparing food per standards
• Estimating needs and communicating with the culinary team
• Preparing meals and documenting temperatures
• Providing snacks and beverages for residents
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organized
• Assisting with special events and maintaining equipment
• Participating in pre-meal briefings
