Your day might include delivering a classroom workshop in a local school, facilitating a youth cooking session at the CFB, a partner organization, or in a school, or supporting a youth-led advocacy project. If you enjoy working with young people and want to make a real impact in the community, this could be the perfect fit.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver nutrition and food insecurity education programs in schools, at the CFB, and with community partners.

  • Support youth leadership and advocacy initiatives, including collaboration with Jr. Ambassadors, Junior Achievement, or other youth programs.
  • Develop materials and activities that are inclusive and age-appropriate, reflecting the needs and cultures of participants.
  • Build strong relationships with youth, school staff, CFB colleagues, and community partners.
  • Track attendance, collect feedback, and help tell the story of program impact.
  • Keep program information up to date and assist with online registration.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, following food handling and safety practices.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children and youth in educational, community, or recreational settings.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, food literacy, or food insecurity, and the ability to teach these topics in an engaging way.
  • Basic cooking skills and understanding of safe food handling practices.
  • Confident in leading groups and delivering both in-person and virtual sessions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse participants.
  • Able to adapt programming to cultural backgrounds, dietary needs, and comfort levels.
  • Physically able to lift, bend, and be on your feet for most of the day.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Assets
  • Diploma or degree in Education, Child & Youth Work, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Experience designing or delivering school-based workshops or youth cooking sessions.
  • Safe Food Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid or Peer Health Worker training.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact through education, youth engagement, and collaborative cooking programs in schools, community partners, and the CFB.
