Overview

Winter Highway Maintenance Operator Seasonal

AtkinsRéalis is dedicated to engineering a better future for our planet and its people.

This position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and performing manual labour required to maintain the highway and right-of-way assets to ensure conformance of the designated section of the highway with required OMR standards and contractual requirements.

This role will be based in Dow Settlement, NB.

Your role within the team

• Operate highway vehicles, equipment’s and tools including but not limited to snow plow trucks, dump body trucks, loaders, Skid Steer loaders, tractors, light vehicles, etc., required to maintain and repair the highway surfaces and other assets in a safe condition according to OMR standards and contractual requirements.
• Perform general maintenance activities of vehicles and equipment’s, such as pre-trip inspections activities, greasing and washing.
• Perform general manual labour required to maintain and repair the highway and related corridor assets (including, but not limited to, traffic control, grass cutting, drainage facilities, signs, asphalt and concrete patching and other assets, spring debris clean-up, litter removal, etc).
• Perform planned and emergency traffic control signing and services, and assist in accident response and site clean-up, in compliance with the Work Area Traffic Control Manual and safety standards.
• Prepare daily work records of activities, including equipment operating times and vehicle performance.
• Assist in yard maintenance and general good house-keeping clean-up practices.
• Required to work scheduled rotating shifts during Winter Operations.
