Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Environment Coordinator, the Environment Intern is part of the Environment department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Process water sampling and monitoring;
  • Compile environmental monitoring data for regulatory reporting requirements;
  • Work safely, effectively, independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment;
  • Execute work for Environmental Programs;
  • Assist and organize different meetings with stakeholders on managing reported items;
  • Monitor and inspect freshet related items along the Meadowbank, Amaruq roads and sites;
  • Install mitigation measures;
  • Ensure constant communication between Environment and other departments involved;
  • Do any other associated task asked from the supervisor.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or Technical diploma in Environmental studies, or related field;
  • Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co-op program
  • Show versatility and adaptability in wildlife, water, sampling and related tasks along the mine site and roads;
  • Strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as in a team;
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change;
  • Demonstrate energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written, as well as presentation skills;
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer and winter;
  • Promote a safety mindset and ensure that all projects and activities comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will cover other travel expenses according to your residence in Canada.
