Overview

GFT is seeking an Entry-Level Water Process Designer/EIT to join our Water team in either Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa ON. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa office.

What you’ll be challenged to do

The Entry Level Water Process Designer/EIT will assist in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of drinking water treatment projects. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, completing treatment studies and developing treatment process recommendations, preparing reports and design documents, and supporting permitting efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, design and start-up of water treatment facilities
  • Conduct site visits and investigations, assist with data collection and compilation for water treatment facilities
  • Prepare reports, develop design plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Prepare national, provincial and local permit applications
  • Perform field engineering services
  • Conduct data analysis and evaluation to assess treatment performance
  • Plan and execute bench, and pilot, and full-scale studies of water treatment processes
  • Develop treatment recommendations and design guidelines
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers.
What you will bring to our firm
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering software.
What we prefer you bring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to assist in/conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
  • Physically able to perform work in the field.
  • Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with municipal and private utilities is a plus.
  • Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements will be favorably considered.
  • Working knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling and other specialty engineering software also beneficial
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $61,000.00 - $86,000.00 dependent upon experience and geographic location.
