Job summary

A large international manufacturing firm is seeking a Financial Manager in the Fraser Valley Area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managerial accounting and financial management, along with a strong educational background. Responsibilities include overseeing all accounting operations, advising the executive team, and managing financial strategies. CPA or CMA designation preferred, as well as experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

LOCATION: Fraser Valley Area

  • You have:

    • Acting as financial advisor to the owner and executive team for strategic planning purposes
    • Overseeing all accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation
    • Monitoring and improving tracking methods for revenue and expenses
    • Coordinating, managing, and monitoring the Finance departments
    • Advising on financing options to support growth of organization
    • Leading and managing the budgeting process for organization
    • Responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, cost, and compliance
    • Coordinating the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reporting
    • Managing insurance coverage for the organization including compliance
    • Developing and coordinating banking relationships for the organization including contracts and compliance
    • Advising and managing mergers and acquisitions due diligence
    • Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups, including internal parties, government regulators and outside agencies
    • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in alignment with corporate values and guidelines
    • Managing Treasury and cash flow
    • Other finance and administrative duties as required
    • Create, develop, and lead Controllers and other financial staff to execute on business plan.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership through training and coaching to drive excellence and to implement continuous improvement activities.
    • Be an active and contributing member of the Executive team and all associated meetings.

    Candidate Must "Haves":

    • 7-10 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalency in an accounting, finance, or business program
    • Professional accounting designation an asset - CPA or CMA plus MBA
    • Experience within a manufacturing environment an asset
    • Thorough knowledge of and compliance to accounting principles and practices
    • Merger and acquisition finance experience an asset
