A local police service in Lethbridge is seeking Volunteer Crisis Support Workers to provide support to victims in distress. Responsibilities include trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and assisting individuals in navigating the justice system. Enthusiasm, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license are required. Applications are accepted until October 15, 2025.

Lethbridge Police Victim/Witness Services Unit (V/WSU) is a police‑based victim assistance program that provides trauma‑informed support, information, referrals, safety planning and education designed with a victim‑centered approach. V/WSU supports victims and witnesses of crime and tragedy to heal and navigate the criminal justice system, in partnership with the Lethbridge Police Service and community services, 24/7.
V/WSU has supported the community since 1991. Volunteer Crisis Support Workers are first responders who provide compassionate support and education related to trauma, crisis intervention and the unique victim experience.
Our on‑scene assistance and referrals may include: abuse and assault; domestic violence; suicide/sudden death; missing persons; fraud; major collisions; robbery; harassment/stalking; bereavement; homicide.

Facility Dogs: LPS has two facility dogs in the workplace to support employees and victims/witnesses through the Criminal Justice Process. A Facility Dog is directed by a trained professional. Dogs may be in various areas of the building; police service dogs have limited interaction with employees on site under supervision.
Landed Immigrant/Citizenship Status: The Lethbridge Police Service welcomes Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. A significant background screening process is required for security clearance. We do not sponsor work permits/visas or permanent residence applications at this time.
