Visitor Service Attendant – Museum Attendant – Summer Student

(2 Positions Available – pending grant approval)

Term of Employment

Full‑Time, Summer Term (April 27, 2026 – August 21, 2026)

Rate of Pay

Student Wage Band: $18.05 per hour (Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)

Lloydminster Museum & Archives (LMA) & Weaver Heritage Park

Duties

The Visitor Services Attendant – Museum Attendant is responsible to assist in the overall operation of the facility with a focus on program development, support, and implementation.

The Visitor Services Attendant – Museum Attendant will:

  • Assist with reception duties.
  • Process admissions, provide customer service, and respond to inquiries.
  • Lead interpretive tours of the galleries and outdoor displays.
  • Assist with summer youth programming at the museum.
  • Assist with the organization, cataloguing, and storage of the Museum’s heritage collection.
  • Assist in leading education programs for school groups.
  • Maintain the grounds at Weaver Park, such as string trimming, gardening, weeding, and garbage removal.
  • Assist in supporting public events.
  • Participate in the City of Lloydminster’s Safety Management System.
  • Other related duties from time to time as required.
Schedule

This position will work days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Must be creative, outgoing, and comfortable working with small groups of children in a hands‑on learning setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to effectively and tactfully deal with the public.
  • Must be comfortable handling cash, reconciling a cash till, and conducting daily deposits.
  • An interest in history is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and in unheated historical buildings, and perform manual duties such as gardening, painting, string trimming, moving equipment, and operating a City of Lloydminster fleet vehicle.

Offer will be contingent upon receiving a satisfactory criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check prior to employment.
