Job description

Eigen Innovations empowers leading manufacturers to reduce risks, waste and improve quality by helping them automate scalable AI enabled vision solutions across their facilities.

As a Vision Design & Integration Engineer, you will work directly with customers to help define, design, deploy, and support the implementation of the Eigen OneView AI vision platform. You will be the technical expert representing Eigen during pre‑sales activities and support Eigen system design and deployment. You will be exposed to various customer manufacturing facilities, and be required to quickly understand the production process, converse with experts within manufacturing facilities, and provide guidance and make recommendations related to the effective use of Eigen technology to optimize the customer manufacturing process. You will be involved in aspects of solution design, hardware specification, solution delivery and installation. In addition, you will monitor customer deployments, triage issues, investigate and assist in the resolution of issues.

This is a remote role reporting to the Sr. Director of Solutions Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates either within commuting distance to the Fredericton office or to a major airport.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and contribute to the creation of customer technical proposals, which will include the scope, schedules, validation plans, materials, and resources required
  • Lead on‑site technical demos and discovery visits as an expert in Eigen solutions
  • Working with team members from software development and product design to develop vision solutions and controls integration strategies to align to customer requirements
  • Preparing content for customer meetings to convey designs and data analysis
  • Assist in the configuration of the integration OneView Edge/Cloud software for projects to ensure they provide the designed outcomes
  • Work with customer support leads to triage and investigate issues reported that relate to devices, connectivity, networking, and interoperability of customer deployments.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer issues and manage the fulfillment of replacement or repair of equipment and devices used on‑premise.
  • Interact with members of the team in regard to software engineering, machine learning, and customer success to assist in the resolution of customer issues.
What you're bringing to the role...
  • University Degree in Engineering or extensive applied Engineering technical training and experience.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities – ability to think on your feet
  • Confidence to communicate any questions or ideas early and often.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute on the needs of multiple clients simultaneously, and manage time independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce detailed documents and reports. Strong oral and written proficiency is required.
  • Expertise and experience with machine vision (optical/thermal) and deploying camera hardware into industrial environments.
  • Expertise and experience with Process Control, Process Automation, Quality Control, and associated compliance and process standards.
  • Experience with control network design and implementation, Linux‑based operating systems, and PLC programming would be a benefit.
  • The ability to pick up new technologies quickly and demonstrate proficiency and expert understanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow your knowledge as the team grows, and to take on increasing responsibility for providing direction.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Part of this job may have light physical demands to assist with customer order fulfillment.
  • You may be required to travel extensively throughout North America, and sometimes on short notice. (Note: some manufacturing facilities require pre‑access drug screen testing to be on‑site, and you will be required to pass a screening as a requirement for this position.)
