Overview
- Team of 8 reps currently—looking for someone to come in and build the team (Current sales revenue $70M—looking to grow to $100M-$250M). Travel: 50-80%.
- Reports directly to the President.
- Ability to walk in and scale, hire people / build relationships. Offices in Denver, Dallas, Atlanta or Oklahoma City. The role will interact with the ops team.
- Accountability is crucial—able to accurately present to leadership on sales forecasting, growth plan, etc.
- This company is a multifamily subcontractor; primary customer base is selling to multifamily, some hospitals, radiant flooring; primarily flooring products (underlayments, concrete leveling, waterproofing systems); selling similar products into a similar client base (building materials, concrete, stone, etc.).
About the Role
The VP of Sales will lead the transformation of our sales strategy to create a customer-driven organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of building structure and processes while fostering individual and team accountability. This role requires a proactive leader who can independently identify growth opportunities and implement effective sales strategies. The VP of Sales will partner with marketing, estimating, finance, and operations to ensure new business leads are generated, deals are profitable, and operational readiness is maintained. This role will involve leadership through data analysis, cold calling, sales presentations, and deal negotiations across our current four states and into adjacent markets with future growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Understand the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understand objectives and set / accomplish performance goals accordingly.
- Develop and execute a customer-centric sales strategy aligned with the company’s vision and goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the sales team, emphasizing accountability and performance.
- Oversee the entire sales process, from initial lead generation to contract execution, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
- Lead negotiations to establish favorable terms and pricing.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to convert high-potential prospects into long-term customers.
- Facilitate recruitment activities to acquire and train sales personnel.
- Provide training and development for both customers and team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on achieving targets.
- Create and implement key performance metrics to monitor and enhance sales effectiveness.
- Collaborate with marketing, estimating, finance, and operations to generate leads and ensure operational readiness.
- Execute and deliver to established sales goals.
- Create and execute strategies and programs to elevate performance and revenue for the sales team.
- Maintain involvement in financial results / P&L and collaborate with the senior management team.
- Monitor and report on sales activities, strategies, and effectiveness.
- Prioritize time and focus to maximize sales team results.
- Travel 50-80% of the time as required by the role.
- Lead the team; participate in hiring; develop objectives; coach and evaluate performance.
- Conduct joint sales calls with sales representatives to identify opportunities and build customer relationships (including coaching / mentoring).

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and 14 years of B2B direct sales experience OR Associate’s Degree and 12 years OR Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years.
- Manager or above leadership experience.

Pay range and compensation
150K-$180K + Bonus
Travel: 80% of the time. Ability to work non-standard hours to meet goals.
