What you will do
  • Set the vision for the region in alignment with CRC strategic priorities.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with government, Indigenous communities, corporations, donors, and other key partners to advance CRC strategies, support contract negotiations, and influence decisions.
  • Lead communication and engagement with all geographic personnel, delivering key messages and fostering opportunities for connection and relationship building, regardless of reporting lines.
  • Act as the external spokesperson for CRC during media interviews, in social/digital media content, and at live events.
  • Represent CRC in external forums, contributing to conversations of strategic interest.
  • Support the implementation of the CRC's Indigenous Peoples Framework principles within the geography, collaborating with Indigenous leadership, communities, organizations, and partners.
  • Ensure effective people management processes, build high-performing teams, and oversee complex workforce relations issues.
  • Provide a respectful and safe working environment for all employees and volunteers.
  • Ensure adherence to Society governance and policies, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Champion change initiatives to support organizational growth and resilience.
What we look for / Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of experience and a university degree in emergency management, health, public policy and strategy, business, commerce or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and leadership of mid to long term strategic, enterprise-wide performance, transformation, and business development.
  • Experience initiating and developing relationships with Indigenous communities, networks and organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships and influencing provincial government officials, partners and policy makers.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience as a people manager leading large, matrixed, multi-location teams and developing organizational capability, driving a high performance, collaborative service culture, and positive work environment.
  • Excellent communication, influence, persuasion and negotiation skills to represent the Canadian Red Cross with vital contacts, develop strategic partnerships, and lead complex business transformations in challenging environments.
  • Exemplary public speaking, presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
Working conditions

Work requires the ability to maintain intense focus, process large amounts of information, and adapt to changing priorities with urgent timelines. The work pace is unpredictable. Majority of work will be in an office-like setting, with some domestic or international travel to generally safe locations. May involve interactions with clients who are agitated or under stress.
