Job Summary

VP, Global Core Trade Finance at TD Securities will provide trade finance product coverage, structuring advice, and risk mitigation to a portfolio of Canadian multi‑national corporates. The role will lead deal origination, client engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive product penetration and strengthen TD’s position in Global Core Trade Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Deal Origination & Structuring
    • Responsible for end‑to‑end transaction lifecycle, including origination, structuring, and execution of transactions within the assigned portfolio.
    • Lead origination efforts by identifying new opportunities to add clients and increase GCTF share of wallet.
    • Prepare and present creative term sheets and pitches.
    • Obtain credit concurrence, coordinate pricing approvals, and manage client calls.
    • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective business and collaborate with regional teams across North America and key global markets.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management
    • Deepen relationships with existing portfolio of clients, serving as trusted advisor and lead contact for all GCTF matters.
    • Navigate client organization and engage relevant partners to resolve issues.
  • Deal Execution
    • Support deal communication and client touchpoints with the CIB relationship coverage team.
    • Prepare deal summaries, RAROC and pricing models, and facilitate negotiation of credit documentation.
    • Steward transactions through credit approval to closing and funding.
  • Portfolio Management
    • Consider risk, internal controls, policies, compliance, and profitability in day‑to‑day accountabilities.
    • Coordinate with credit and operational teams for ongoing portfolio maintenance.
  • Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Impact
    • Act as key member of broader relationship coverage within CIB, participating in joint calling and pitching.
    • Develop collaborative coverage plans with CIB relationship managers and leverage analyst support.
    • Identify and socialize cross‑selling initiatives; uphold One‑TD mindset.
  • Market Insight & Innovation
    • Contribute to TD and GTB brand growth; stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
    • Support strategic initiatives and new product builds as required.
Requirements
  • 10‑15 years of relevant experience in trade finance or corporate/commercial lending at a major financial institution, with 5‑7 years as a senior contributor demonstrating successful deal origination and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional trade finance products (SBLCs, bank guarantees, documentary letters of credit).
  • Experience structuring complex financial transactions and negotiating legal/loan documentation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with large corporations and global financial institutions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to travel within North America.
  • MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification in finance, accounting, or law preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, high motivation, and integrity.
