What is the opportunity?

As the Vice President, Commercial Financial Services for the Public Sector, Not-For-Profit & Business Professional Services segment, you inspire, motivate and engage your sales team to deliver a highly differentiated client experience to enhance client loyalty and grow revenue by acquiring new clients and deepening existing client relationships. You will focus on coaching your team to high standards of behaviours, activities and results. Collaborating with other RBC colleagues across the organization, you will contribute to helping RBC maintain its dominant market position.

What will you do?

  • Provide leadership, direction and ongoing coaching to the Commercial Relationship Management team, building employee engagement through focused sales routines
  • Lead and advocate change within the organization by building engagement and inspiring your team to achieve the desired business outcomes
  • Demonstrate your market leadership by promoting the RBC brand and enhancing visibility by developing and maintaining a network in the business community, working closely with industry and business leaders, community groups and RBC partners
  • Manage the business to achieve market and sales objectives through focus and dedication to effective sales management routines that add value for the team while balancing both operational and credit risk requirements
  • Leverage full RBC capabilities including branches, alternate delivery channels and service partners to achieve RBC’s business goals
  • Employ digital channels, drive client awareness, and ensure your team is enabling clients with RBC digital access

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 5-7 years commercial banking experience preferred
  • Proven track record in leading and coaching professional sales teams to high standards of performance
  • Actively foster continuous learning mindset and professional development of team members as well as model own commitment to development by actively growing, developing and learning as a leader and coach
  • Astute business acumen with strong knowledge of financial industry and commercial banking
  • Strong knowledge of credit management, product and pricing policies, privacy, code of conduct and anti-money laundering requirements, and overall business centre operations
  • Strong sales orientation and a demonstrated passion for putting clients first
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e. web based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)

Nice-to-have

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a geographically diverse and mobile team
  • Proven leadership, sales management and performance management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration, MBA or related experience is required
