Job description

At Conexus Venture Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of Conexus Credit Union, we fuel the dreams of Saskatchewan's most ambitious entrepreneurs. It’s about more than investing capital - we're a hands-on partner driving the growth and success of our companies and we’re dedicated to igniting the vibrant Saskatchewan startup ecosystem.

Our team is curious, courageous, confident and committed to our mission and the founders we invest in. We believe you can build world-class companies from anywhere, especially right here in Saskatchewan.

We acknowledge that our Conexus Venture Capital offices and facilities are situated on the traditional territories of Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10. These are the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

The bigger picture

We’re looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Venture Capital Associate/Analyst in either Regina or Saskatoon. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape Saskatchewan’s tech ecosystem by helping to identify new investment opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence on potential investments, and managing our diverse portfolio of innovative companies.

As a key player on our lean, high-performance team, you’ll collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive the success of Conexus Venture Capital and shape the future of entrepreneurship right here in Saskatchewan.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail oriented, and passionate about engaging with founders and making a real impact in the venture capital landscape. If you’re a critical thinker with a strong technical background and a hunger to learn more, this opportunity is for you. Previous experience or exposure to venture capital or private capital environments is a key asset, along with an understanding of Saskatchewan’s early-stage startup ecosystem.

How you’ll be spending your time

Financial modelling and fundraising

  • Supporting the financial modelling needs of portfolio companies and prospective investments.
  • Crafting pro rata cap tables for prospective investments and ownership considerations.
  • Developing and updating fundraising materials to aid in the fundraising efforts of our new fund.

Portfolio company support

  • Coaching and supporting portfolio companies in the development and maintenance of data rooms throughout fundraising initiatives.
  • Preparing and reviewing board materials to ensure portfolio companies are equipped for effective governance.
  • Serving as a board observer, where appropriate, to provide oversight and enhance company performance.

Deal flow and due diligence

  • Conducting research and assisting with quarterly valuation activities across multiple funds.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and rigorously assessing companies for potential investment, presenting high-quality opportunities to the Principal and Managing Director.
  • Developing and collaborating on fundraising promotional materials and presentations to support capital-raising efforts.

Collaboration and general support

  • Collaborating with the Venture Capital team to plan and coordinate events.
  • Representing Conexus Credit Union and Conexus Venture Capital at Saskatchewan VC ecosystem events, engaging with investors and founders to foster strategic relationships.
  • Presenting on behalf of Conexus Venture Capital where appropriate.
The way people describe you
  • You are known as a conscientious and driven professional, always eager to learn and grow—personally and within your team.
  • Colleagues note your talent for transforming complex problems into actionable solutions, thanks to your analytical mindset and collaborative spirit.
  • Friends and coworkers appreciate your clear and confident communication, whether breaking down complex ideas or supporting major business decisions.
  • You are recognized for your adaptability in fast-paced environments and your ability to manage multiple projects with organized precision.
  • Others highlight your proactive, action-oriented approach - you don’t just react to opportunities, you create them.
  • Your attention to detail, strong research skills, and commitment to excellence set you apart from others.
  • You are valued for your resourcefulness, genuine enthusiasm for growth, and ability to build trust with peers, partners, and stakeholders alike.
The experience you bring
  • Base-level understanding of the venture capital industry and the Saskatchewan venture capital ecosystem.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in finance, financial modelling, and company due diligence.
  • 1-4 years of experience in investment management, financial services, tech industry, or a high-growth environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or related discipline.
  • CFA, CPA or CBV designation or working towards one of these.

Salary ranges:

  • Analyst level range: $62,110 - $77,640 with 9% Short Term Incentive Target
  • Associate level range: $83,840 - $111,780 with 13% Short Term Incentive Target

Depending on the depth and relevance of your experience and qualifications, candidates will be assessed and placed appropriately within the salary range, either in the Associate or Analyst role. This ensures alignment between your background and the responsibilities of the position, as well as fair and competitive compensation.
