A progressive healthcare facility in Vaughan seeks a Unit Secretary to provide essential clerical support in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 or equivalent education, excellent communication and organizational skills, and preferably experience in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include data entry for admissions, responding to inquiries, and ensuring efficient operations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
In collaboration with nursing, other hospital staff and various community services, provides clerical and administrative support to maintain a progressive, efficient, organized healthcare environment that further enhances the patient and staff experience. The Unit Secretary operates, maintains and orders different types of office and hospital equipment and supplies in a fast paced, dynamic, open concept setting. This position inputs data information for admissions, transfers, and discharges, including entering consults, printing labels, and completing work lists on EPIC. The unit secretary responds to telephone inquiries and call bells, and communicates with staff, patients and families including making post-discharge calls.
