What is the opportunity?

You will develop and deliver on business priorities and improve the Client Experience through execution of sales plans to acquire new Treasury Solutions clients and sell additional Treasury services to existing clients within the assigned market territory. You will provide focused financial advice and solutions to meet the clients’ business and financial goals, partner with Commercial Financial Services (CFS) staff and other colleagues across RBC Financial Group to drive client loyalty and build long‑term profitable client relationships. This position involves sales over the phone and via WebEx and requires collaboration with all business partners to deliver an exceptional client experience and bring all of RBC to our clients.

What will you do?
  • Put clients first. Excel in responding to requests quickly and reliably and ensure smooth operation of banking products and services.
  • Deliver financial and business "In Sight" advice through a differentiated value proposition. Present solutions that clearly articulate the benefits and advantages to the client. Help the client to understand alternatives, navigate and implement proposed solutions. Identify opportunities and refer clients to RBC partners to meet the client’s broader advice needs.
  • Help the client with new or emerging issues that will impact their business by providing the client with unique, valuable insights on the client’s industry, business or market.
  • Understand the client’s financial situation, leverage insight from RBC colleagues to ensure respect for client’s time and demonstrate interest in the client’s business as part of your pre‑contact planning review for all client calls/meetings.
  • Take responsibility of client problems at first point of contact engaging appropriate partners to effectively resolve the problems.
  • Subscribe to a professional service standard for responding to clients and colleagues, returning voice mail and email and using business etiquette in your communications, including outbound voicemail message and electronic correspondence.
  • As part of the CFS Relationship Team, work with colleagues to execute a coordinated client contact strategy as guided by the CAM.
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Great collaboration skills
  • 2+ years of business and commercial banking experience in a financial services environment including knowledge of investment and current account operations, analyzing, presenting, negotiating and closing deals (Cash Management referral experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of financial products & services (including web based product delivery channels).
  • The incumbent will be working remotely from the reporting officer and so a strong entrepreneurial spirit is a prerequisite.
  • Strong client focus and the ability to incorporate sales disciplines into day‑to‑day activities.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; notably the ability to illustrate with words the impact of the recommended solutions on the client’s business operation(s) relationships.
  • Willingness to learn new skills while building partnerships with stakeholders and fostering teamwork.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced environment as this is an intense high volume transaction sales role requiring above average organizational skills and a proven capacity for coping with incoming and ongoing call/email volumes.
  • Working knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
