Summary

The Managed Transportation Coordinator is responsible for executing and monitoring daily shipments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and complete end-to-end visibility. This role supports customers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams through proactive communication, issue resolution, and maintaining high-quality data within the Transportation Management System (TMS).

Monday to Friday 9:30am-6:00pm

Responsibilities
Shipment Execution & Tracking
  • Execute and monitor daily shipments, including tendering, dispatching, tracking, and updating statuses in the TMS.
  • Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery; identify delays or service risks.
  • Confirm appointments and coordinate dock requirements and order readiness with warehouses.
  • Validate shipment details and process documentation (BOLs, packing lists, customs documents, PODs).
Customer & Carrier Communication
  • Provide customers with accurate ETAs, delay notifications, and recovery updates.
  • Communicate with carriers via phone, email, and portals to obtain timely shipment information.
  • Partner with warehouse operations and customer service to prioritize and coordinate shipments, including special handling or time-sensitive moves.
Data Integrity, Billing & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate TMS data including reference numbers, weights, dimensions, accessorials, and shipment notes.
  • Prepare exception logs, recovery summaries, KPI metrics, and other required reports.
  • Support billing audits to ensure invoicing accuracy and adherence to SLAs.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
  • Resolve shipment issues quickly and upscale recurring concerns to the MT Representative/Manager.
  • Recommend mode changes or alternative solutions when shipments are at risk.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Education and Experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in transportation or warehouse operations.
  • College diploma or degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (asset).
  • Experience with TMS platforms; WMS experience an asset.
  • Experience supporting e-commerce or B2C, B2B, final mile transportation environments is beneficial.
