Job description Summary

The purpose of this role is to organize and facilitate learning and development of FIRST Canada employees, and expedite acquisition of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for effective job performance. The Training Coordinator works with internal clients, i.e. team leaders and managers, to understand organizational goals, priorities and development needs in order to create targeted learning objectives and programs.

What You’ll Do
  • Conducts needs analysis for employee training
  • Develops training content, materials and curriculum to support functional requirements
  • Maintains library of learning materials and training records
  • Under the direction of the VP, Administration, facilitates an engaging onboarding experience to ensure that new employees are fully productive in their role
  • Develop and implement new hire onboarding schedule, coordinate new hire set up, host scheduled with new hires to monitor progress
  • Works in partnership with department leads in order to align training goals with departmental objectives. Communicates frequently and effectively to ensure these goals and objectives are being fulfilled
  • Assesses skill gaps in employee population impeding organizational outcomes; executes training and development strategies to address high priority needs
  • Ongoing skills training in cases of organizational changes to ensure all employees remain up to date and effective
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of training methodologies
  • Knowledge of adult instructional and learning theory and principles
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance policy terms, conditions and terminology is an asset
