Testing Lab Helper (part time)

Part‑time contract role supporting the Operator Qualification Testing Lab (OQT & C) team.

Job Description

Callouts:

  • This role is part time with a minimum 3 days a week – potential to work additional hours as needed.
  • Hours: 7:30am – 3:30pm in Cumberland, RI – this role would work with the team who performs written and practical tests in a lab setting. The contractor would assist in making sure systems are working and testing samples on plastic pipes.
  • Gas utility experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist testing team in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all equipment and testing set‑up in the Operator Qualification testing lab.
  • Develop and construct new testing props as needed.
  • Work in a safe, productive and cost‑effective manner.
  • Handle standard gas construction equipment and materials.
  • Support the destructive testing of pipe joining by utilizing a band saw.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the OQT & C group.
  • Support staff in maintenance of equipment in the OQ practical testing lab, use of the band saw to cut destructive testing strips, and general observations in the lab.
  • Assist in building and designing new props for testing or other duties as assigned by OQT & C.
