A leading university in Atlantic Canada is seeking an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics. Responsibilities include contributing to undergraduate and graduate programs, establishing an independent research program, and teaching courses in biostatistics. Candidates should possess a PhD in Biostatistics or a related field, demonstrate a strong publication record, and be capable of supervising graduate students. Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences (PHAHS) invites applications for a tenure‑track position in Biostatistics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (consideration may be given to hiring at the rank of Associate Professor) and is anticipated to commence in September 2026.
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs in PHAHS, establish an independent, externally funded research program, and participate in service activities (including statistical consulting services to the Faculty of Medicine, the Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, and others). The candidate will apply biostatistical knowledge and skills to teaching at undergraduate and graduate level, teach existing statistical courses in PHAHS, and develop advanced biostatistics courses to meet the needs of research and educational programs in the Faculty of Medicine.

The candidate is expected to be an independent researcher and develop an externally funded research program. Candidates with research programs in statistics or health‑related disciplines are especially encouraged. Research areas include genetics, machine learning, public health, human neuroscience, knowledge translation and implementation science, health policy, health services research, and epidemiology. Candidates should demonstrate a strong publication record and be able to supervise graduate trainees.
The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a Health‑related discipline. Applicants with a PhD in a health‑related discipline must demonstrate commensurate expertise in biostatistics in their research program or teaching dossier. Applicants should demonstrate a strong publication record; those applying at the Associate level must present evidence of an established, externally funded research program.
