Temporary Full‑Time Designated Early Childhood Educator

Location & Commencing

School: King Albert Public School, Lindsay, ON

Commencing: Immediately to Feb 27, 2026 (possibility to extend longer) – filling an existing position

Wage Rate

$26.80 per hour minimum to $33.80 per hour

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full‑day early learning program within a classroom setting and provide supervision and age‑appropriate programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program, as required. The educator will collaborate in the design of programs and environments that enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with classroom teacher to plan and implement full‑day early learning programs.
• Provide supervision and age‑appropriate programming for groups of students in the extended day program.
• Collaborate in designing programs and environments that promote the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of children.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and at least six months of child‑care experience in an educational setting.
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education full‑day learning Kindergarten curriculum.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and courteously with children, parents, staff and the public.
  • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Experience in planning, developing and implementing age‑appropriate programs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Physical ability to assist children as required (lifting, bending, crouching, reaching, etc.).
  • Ability to assist children in washroom routines, dressing, toileting and lunchtime activities.
