Compensation

The salary range for this role is CAD $98,600 - $131,400. This role is current and available for applications.

Location

Evonik Morrisburg site is located just north of the St. Lawrence River and approximately one hour (80 km) south of Ottawa, 1.5 hours west of Montreal, and 3.5 hours east of Toronto. The site employs around 30 people and is a chemical manufacturing process that produces oil additives that improve the flow of oil at low temperatures and ensure adequate lubrication at high temperatures. In finished lubricants, these additives are optimally formulated to help reduce fuel consumption, reflecting Evonik’s focus on resource efficiency.

Responsibility
  • Provide maintenance and engineering support to plant for resolving technical problems, increasing capacity, improving quality, reducing cost, introducing new products/ raw materials, improving plant reliability, sustaining mechanical integrity, and solving Safety, Health & Environmental problems.
  • Lead, develop and manage performance of plant engineer, maintenance planner, mechanics and utilities operators (8 FTE’s).
  • Develop maintenance and technical project plans, department goals and vision; assist in development of plant goals and vision. Align support work of plant maintenance and technical staff with plant goals and business goals.
  • Develop capital spending program and Project Responsible for projects from project inception to start-up.
  • Oversee the maintenance department to resolve mechanical issues, reduce costs and improve reliability.
  • Provide support for special projects as defined by Plant Manager.
  • Active member of Morrisburg Management Team, and is involved in decisions for the site outside of direct responsibility.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 10-15 years experience in plant, project management, engineering or process related assignment.
  • 5+ years experience in implementing/managing projects from concept to funds approval, construction, and commissioning.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal, organizational, team and performance management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS systems, management of change, and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of ISO systems; Knowledge of SAP; Knowledge of plant maintenance.
  • Awareness/experience with construction of projects in industrial establishments and knowledge of O.Reg 213 (Construction Projects) would be beneficial.
