We have an exciting opportunity available to join our team as Team leader, Establishment and Classification. You will be a dedicated and motivated HR professional experienced in establishment and classification processes.

This role leads a small team and partners with stakeholders to provide a professional and responsive consultancy services for Establishment and Classification. This role provides advice to managers on creation and abolition of positions, changes to existing positions, classification review and assessment of new positions, requests for temporary special allowance and / or reclassification and job design through the development and review of Job Description Forms (JDF’s).

The role also has responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and quality of establishment data on the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) and provides proactive advice in the development, design and implementation of organisational structure reviews.

This is a permanent full-time position, although part-time applications will be considered. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12months from the initial date of appointment.

Our Perth office is located in the Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.

To be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate :

  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking public sector classification determination processes, including the application of relevant frameworks, legislation and Commissioner’s Instructions to support classification and organisational design.
  • Team management experience including creating a work environment that motivates and develops people to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to undertake analysis and research to unpack complex issues and develop recommendations to solve problems.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, structured reports that provide actionable recommendations, while effectively engaging, negotiating, and managing stakeholder expectations to deliver timely, high-quality services.
